Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant

Overview

As a Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant, you will support the safe, accurate and considerate supply of medicines, helping the pharmacy team deliver a smooth service. You will handle dispensing tasks carefully, follow established procedures and treat each patient with respect and discretion.

Duties

Receive prescriptions and help prepare medicines for dispensing, checking details carefully and referring queries to the appropriate colleague.

Label and assemble items accurately, maintain clear records, and keep dispensing areas organised.

Communicate courteously with patients, respond to routine queries within your role, and pass clinical questions to a qualified colleague.

Work closely with the pharmacy team to keep prescriptions moving safely and efficiently.

Skills

Required: You should be organised, attentive to detail, able to follow procedures, and communicate with patience and discretion while supporting patient care. Preferred: Pharmacy technician experience, familiarity with medication administration, and further patient care experience can strengthen your contribution to the dispensing team.

Pay: £12.71-£12.85 per hour
