Lead Technical Excellence. Shape Strategy. Grow a Market-Leading Practice.

Are you an established Ecotoxicologist or Ecological Risk Assessor looking for an opportunity to build your profile, influence major projects, and help shape the future direction of a growing environmental consultancy practice?

We are seeking an experienced Principal Consultant or Technical Director to join and lead our Ecotoxicology and Ecological Risk Assessment group as part of the Toxicology & Risk team. This is a key technical and business role for a recognised industry professional with a strong technical reputation, established client relationships, and a passion for growing business and developing people.

As a key member within our Soils, Geochemistry, Toxicology and Risk Practice, you will work alongside a highly regarded team of specialist consultants, including a dedicated ecotoxicology group and a broader multidisciplinary practice of more than 40+ experts across Asia Pacific.

This is more than a technical leadership role. It is an opportunity to join a collaborative team that combines deep technical expertise with a strong growth mindset. You will have the autonomy to shape the direction of the ecotoxicology practice while being supported by a substantial multidisciplinary network of specialists who are solving some of the most complex environmental challenges across the region.

We have just over 1,200 staff in Asia Pacific and you will find us located in all the major cities and many regional areas. We are open to location for the successful person where we have established offices in place.

Responsibilities

  • Working with other technical specialists who are passionate about their fields and highly collaborative employees, this role offers the platform to:
  • Lead and grow a successful ecotoxicology and ecological risk assessment capability.
  • Drive business development and work-winning initiatives across existing and emerging markets.
  • Leverage your professional network and industry profile to identify opportunities and develop long-term client partnerships.
  • Provide technical leadership on complex environmental, contaminated land, mining, industrial, infrastructure and regulatory projects.
  • Mentor and develop a team of talented ecotoxicologists and risk assessment specialists.
  • Collaborate with leading experts across contaminated land, geochemistry, toxicology, human health risk assessment, hydrogeology and environmental sciences.
  • Influence strategic direction, service offerings and market growth within a well-established environmental consulting business.

Experience

  • Not only will you be a honest, trusted and great person to be around, you will also be a recognised technical leader who brings:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in ecotoxicology, environmental science, ecology, toxicology or a related discipline coupled with 10-15+ years’ experience (ideally within a consulting environment but open to other industry)
  • A strong reputation within industry, regulatory, government and/or commercial sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in winning work, developing client relationships and generating revenue growth.
  • Established networks and connections that can contribute to the continued expansion of the practice.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and mentoring technical professionals.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
