About the Opportunity

creating value for communities, customers and shareholders. Through Rio Tinto’s partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking experienced Process Operators for their Bell Bay Aluminium Smelter.

Reporting to the Supervisor and working in a collaborative and exciting environment, you will bring:

Strong manual handling skills and physical fitness

Ability to work in hot, dusty, and high-risk environments

Good situational awareness and hazard recognition

Ability to follow detailed processes, SWI/SOPs, and communicate via radio

Willingness to work 12-hour shifts on day and night rosters

Full PPE compliance: long sleeves, heat-resistant gear, respirator, gloves, etc.

Work safely within Rio Tinto procedures

Nice-to-have skills:

Exposure to industrial environments such as smelting, mining, or manufacturing

Prior shift work experience

Strong work ethic and reliable attendance

What you'll bring to the table

Previous experience in heavy industry, trade assistance, labouring, or production roles

Manual handling capability with a focus on repetitive, physically demanding tasks

Ability to pass a medical D&A Testing

Ability to work in a respirator and around magnetic fields

Other requirements:

Prepared for high physical demand: lifting up to 25kg, pushing wheelbarrows, raking, and manual skimming

Willing to work in a high-temperature, dust-filled environment with molten metal and moving machinery
