About the role

We are currently looking for a Procurement Skipper to join our on water Procurement Vessels team based in Havelock responsible for operations across Golden Bay, Tasman and Marlborough Sounds.

You will be on a Full-time contract working 40-60 hours per week.

A a Procurement Skipper you will be responsible for:

Ensuring farms are approved for harvesting.

Monitoring farm growing areas, growth rates, blue over settlement, and rain closures.

Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing mussel farmers.

Promoting and demonstrating Talley’s Health & Safety practices.

Maintaining knowledge of grading processes and specifications required for Talley’s mussel products.

For this role, you’ll need:

A valid Skipper license.

Demonstrated mussel industry experience.

Experience working on vessels.

Experience with heavy lifting.

To be active and physically capable to keep up with the demand of the tasks onboard.

To have a good attitude.

To be willing to participate in developing a good team culture onboard.

To be proficient in English (Written and Verbal).
