Hilton Foods is seeking a strong, capable, and detail-oriented Production Manager to lead our Auckland afternoon shift.

You’ll play a key role in driving operational excellence and continuing the success of our Auckland operations. This role reports directly to the Operations Manager.

AM Shift 05:00am start

This isn't your traditional production management role it's a chance to influence operations end-to-end, build strong relationships across the site, and make a real impact in a fast-moving, people-focused environment.

As Production Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of our established facility in Wiri, Auckland — managing people, processes, and performance across processing facilities, logistics, and inventory, with a strong focus on achieving DIFOT targets.

Your mahi is to grow people and operations — building capability, improving systems, and driving performance across the branch.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the Production team across Operations, ensuring they are compliant with Quality, Planning, Health & Safety, and you will also have oversight of Logistics.

Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs

Oversee resource allocation and scheduling to ensure timely processing and attainment to production plan

Lead, coach, and mentor Team Leader, Line Leaders, and frontline staff

Monitor operational costs and implement cost-saving measures

Enforce health & safety and food safety protocols

Collaborate with planning teams for seamless coordination

Analyse KPIs and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement

Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence

He kōrero mōu: About you:

A tertiary qualification in logistics, manufacturing, operations, or a related field is preferred.

You’ll bring at least 3-5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing or logistics operations, ideally within the foodservice industry. People management skills are essential.

Proven expertise in operations management, planning, and performance monitoring

Strong leadership and team development capabilities

Excellent communication and influencing skill

Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities

Proficiency in MS Office and relevant software systems

Knowledge of health & safety regulations and best practices

Flexibility to work outside regular hours when required
