Project Engineer

Build something significant in Picton.

We’re looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our project team in Picton, with a key focus on the planning, procurement and delivery of rock revetment works.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll be involved from pre-construction planning through to delivery, helping develop construction methodologies, sequencing, temporary works and logistics, before supporting the successful execution of the works on site.

What you’ll be doing

Working closely with the wider project team, you will

• Support the planning and delivery of rock revetment and associated civil works
• Develop construction methodologies, work sequencing and temporary works requirements
• Assist with the procurement of armour rock and associated materials
• Plan rock quantities, delivery timing, transport, unloading, stockpiling and material handling
• Coordinate rock deliveries and placement during construction
• Establish and manage QA, ITP, survey and set-out requirements
• Ensure revetment works are constructed to the required line, level and profile
• Coordinate closely with supervisors, surveyors, operators and subcontractors
• Manage interfaces with adjacent civil, structural and marine works
• Support programming, procurement, cost tracking, subcontractor management and project reporting
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, environmental management and quality throughout delivery
• The underlying Project Engineer position also includes procurement, programme management, temporary works, QA, surveying/set-out and commercial support responsibilities.

• You’ll bring a practical engineering mindset, strong site coordination skills and the aility to work across multiple construction interfaces.

Ideally, you’ll have

• A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Relevant civil construction experience
• Experience in surveying and set-out
• Strong planning skills across plant, labour and materials
• An understanding of temporary works and construction methodologies
• Sound commercial and procurement awareness
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
• A Full Class 1 Driver Licence
• Previous experience with rock revetments, armour rock placement and/or dredging is highly desirable
• The role would particularly suit an engineer who enjoys being close to the construction activity and coordinating the technical and practical elements required to keep complex works moving.
