About the role:

Our client is looking for an experienced Purchasing Specialist to join their Supply Chain team on an initial 3-month contract, supporting the team through the implementation of a new Supplier Relationship Management platform.

This is not a technical systems or Project Manager role. The system provider is managing the technical implementation, but the Purchasing team needs an extra pair of capable hands internally to help coordinate all the moving parts and keep things progressing.

Alongside supporting the wider Purchasing function, you’ll work across internal stakeholders, suppliers and the system provider, helping gather information and data, follow up actions, coordinate timelines and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

It’s a great opportunity for a switched-on Purchasing professional who is organised, proactive, great with people and comfortable spinning plenty of plates in a fast-moving environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Taking ownership of key Purchasing workstreams within the supplier systems implementation

Coordinating internal stakeholders, suppliers and the system provider

Managing project actions, timelines, follow-ups and deliverables

Driving the collection and accuracy of supplier data and information

Supporting testing, UAT and implementation readiness

Proactively chasing actions and keeping stakeholders on track

Identifying issues early, solving problems and making sure nothing falls through the cracks

About you:

Proven experience across Purchasing, Procurement, Buying or Category Management, ideally within FMCG, retail, hospitality or another fast-paced consumer environment

Strong stakeholder and supplier relationship skills

Highly organised, proactive and comfortable juggling multiple priorities

Confident chasing actions and keeping people and priorities moving

A quick learner who can pick up new systems and processes easily

Comfortable joining a busy team and getting stuck in wherever needed

Strong communication skills and a genuinely hands-on approach
