Quantity Surveyor

Our wonderful client is on the hunt for an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their growing culturally diverse team in Christchurch. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and is looking to contribute to the successful delivery of a diverse range of projects.

About the Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing project costs, contract administration, procurement, and financial reporting while working closely with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions.

Monitor project costs and ensure financial targets are achieved.

Manage procurement processes and subcontractor negotiations.

Assess and manage variations, progress claims, and final accounts.

Conduct site measurements and valuations.

Prepare regular cost reports and financial forecasts.

Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.

Identify commercial risks and provide proactive solutions.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

Skills and Experience

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.

Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.

Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating/cost management software.

Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
