Registered Nurse

Excellens Urgent Care Clinic is a new, modern walk-in urgent care centre in Killarney, founded by an emergency physician to bring hospital-level urgent care closer to the community. With on-site digital X-ray, point-of-care laboratory testing and ECG, our aim is simple: assessment, diagnosis and treatment completed in a single visit, whenever clinically appropriate.

We are building our founding team and are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse who shares our commitment to fast, expert and compassionate care.

The Role

• As the first clinical contact for our patients, you will play a central role in every visit:
• Triage of walk-in patients: vital signs, history and prioritisation
• Assisting emergency physicians with examinations and minor procedures
• Wound care, dressings and suturing assistance
• Plaster cast and splint application, following in-house training
• Operation of the digital X-ray system, following accredited training and in line with radiation protection regulations
• Phlebotomy, point-of-care laboratory tests and ECGs
• Administration of medications and vaccinations
• Patient education and clear aftercare instructions
• Accurate clinical documentation
• Infection prevention, stock control and equipment checks
• Requirements
• Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) – essential
• Minimum [2] years' post-registration experience, ideally in Emergency Medicine, an Injury Unit or urgent care
• Confident triage skills (Manchester Triage System experience an advantage)
• Current BLS; ACLS/ILS an advantage
• Calm, professional and reassuring manner with patients of all ages
• Flexibility to work a rota including evenings and weekends
• Right to work in Ireland
• What We Offer
• Competitive salary of €42,000 – €55,000, depending on experience and qualifications
