Retail Assistant Manager

Farleigh Hospice is a high-performing organisation providing specialist palliative and end-of-life care for people with life-limiting illnesses across Mid Essex. As our retail team continues to grow and evolve to meet the changing needs of our community, we are looking for a highly motivated Retail Assistant Manager to join our Maldon clearance shop and donation centre.

To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

Strong leadership and team management skills\*

The ability to recruit, train and motivate volunteers\*

Excellent customer service skills\*

A sales-focused approach and strong commercial awareness\*

Confidence in visual merchandising and shop-floor presentation\*

Experience of sorting and pricing donations and rotating stock\*

Cash-handling, banking and basic financial management skills\*

The ability to organise and prioritise in a fast-paced environment\*

Clear verbal and written communication skills\*

A confident, solutions-focused approach to decision-making\*

The drive to meet sales and Gift Aid targets\*

Awareness of health and safety, safeguarding and security\*

Good IT and administrative skills\*

Flexibility, resilience and a willingness to work weekends\*

A genuine commitment to the charity’s values and the local community\*
