Retail Assistant - Newmarket

Join the team at Circle K as a Retail Assistant. We are looking for an energetic, reliable and caring person who thrives in a fast-paced convenience environment and takes pride in store presentation and customer care.

Weekday and weekend shifts available. Weekend availability is essential. We have casual, part-time and full-time positions open.

tasks and responsibilities will include (but not limited to)

• Provide friendly, professional customer service at all times

• Serve customers at the checkout and handle cash and electronic transactions

accurately

• Verify age for restricted products and follow all alcohol and tobacco licensing

requirements

• Replenish shelves and displays, rotating stock using FIFO (First In, First Out)

• Assist with stocktakes, receiving deliveries and ordering stock as needed

• Prepare and assemble food items to company standards

• Maintain store cleanliness — equipment, surfaces, kitchen areas, bathrooms and floors

and remove rubbish

• Lift and carry stock and operate store equipment safely

• Collect stock from suppliers or other store locations using a company vehicle when

required

• Follow all health, safety, security and food safety procedures, including overnight

security protocols

• Work independently with minimal supervision, follow supervisor instructions, and meet

store performance targets under Circle K Retail Excellence standards

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum 6 months retail, food service, quick service restaurant or hospitality
• experience (strongly preferred)
• Willingness and motivation to learn the role
• Ability to self-manage, work unsupervised overnight and prioritise your own
• tasks
• Hard working, trustworthy and a team player
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Able to perform the physical requirements of the role including standing for the
• length of a shift, and bending, lifting and carrying stock up to 15kg
• Reliable transport or a plan to commute to Auckland City for overnight shifts
• The legal right to work in New Zealand
• Willing to complete a pre-employment Ministry of Justice criminal record check
• and drug screen (with your consent)
• Pay: $23.95 – $24.00 per hour
