Sanitation Worker

J&L Beef is currently seeking Sanitation Workers for our Cloverdale facility.

Responsibilities

- You would be responsible for ensuring the production facility is cleaned and sanitized in a timely fashion in accordance with HACCP & CFIA regulations.

- You could expect to be lifting and moving products from area to area, using high pressure hot water hoses to wash machines; clean-up tasks such as garbage removal and other activities related to food processing.

- You will need to be comfortable handling raw meat such as chicken, beef, and turkey, comfortable working in a humid, wet environment, and working in a fast-paced environment. Training will be provided.

Requirements

• Be able to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada and be minimum 18 years of age
• You need to be comfortable working around raw meat products
• Comfortable working in a wet environment with warm/cool temperatures.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Able to handle extended periods of static tasks with alertness
• Positive attitude and safety focused
• Willingness to develop new skills
• Previous cleaning experience including GMP’s, and WHIMS are an asset
• Attention to detail and ability to find defects in product streams
• Ability to operate mobile equipment such as power jack, forklift, scissor lift, and any other mobile equipment would be considered an asset

• This is a Unionized position with a progressive wage scale, regular wage increases and benefit package that includes, medical, dental, extended health, life insurance and a company pension plan.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday - 8:30 pm – 5:00 am with possible overtime daily
• Starting Wage: from $18.00 per hour + plus night shift premium of .65 cents per hour
