Supporting a non-profit organization remotely on a long-term contract basis, the experienced Senior Accountant will manage monthly close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and produce financial reports to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

##### Key responsibilities

Lead monthly close activities by preparing and reviewing entries, verifying balances, and meeting deadlines

Maintain the general ledger with high accuracy and investigate discrepancies affecting financial data

Produce financial reports that support internal review and leadership decision-making

##### Required qualifications

Strong hands-on experience managing month-end close in an accounting environment

Demonstrated knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation

Proven ability to perform account reconciliations accurately and efficiently

Background in preparing financial reports for organizational or management use

Familiarity with accounts payable activities and expense coding practices
