Senior Software Engineer I - Account Management

We are looking for a Backend engineer to join the Account Management team. The team has a broad scope in Account space - customer features (converting money, holding different currencies, bank statements, sharing account with partners, etc.) and platform (product ledger, APIs for other Wise teams). **How we work** For everything we do, we keep our customers' needs in mind. What will you be working on? Key focus areas for the team are: * Offering new types of accounts (Savings, Joint) * Scaling  product ledger platform (new capabilities, reliability) **What do you need?** You know how to deliver complex product solutions and build distributed systems which are used by millions of customers. * You are proficient in backend programming languages like Java, Python or Go. * You have extensive experience in designing and implementing asynchronous, reliable and scalable systems in microservices environments. * You have a strong product mindset and genuine passion for user experience — you prioritize customer value and make data-driven decisions. * You are comfortable using AI-assisted development tools and apply engineering judgement to everything you ship. * You have a self-starter attitude with a collaborative spirit — you work well independently and across teams. * Clean, efficient, and well-tested code is your standard — you’re big on performance and maintainability. * You are a strong communicator and can articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audiences. You know how to communicate with multiple teams and find the best solution that suits everyone. **Nice to Have:** * Experience in API-first development * Experience working with ledgers and/or payment processing **Interested?
