Site Engineer (Graduate)
Job Description
Maxion Civil is looking for a motivated Graduate Site Engineer to join our civil construction team, based in Auckland and supporting the delivery of civil construction projects across our project sites.
This is a site-based graduate role suited to someone who has recently completed a relevant qualification and is looking to build practical experience in civil construction, site engineering and project delivery.
Regular travel to project sites will be required, including travel outside Auckland where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the coordination of day-to-day construction activities on site
- Support site measurements, set-out coordination and quantity tracking
- Assist with QA documentation, inspections, ITPs and site records
- Monitor construction progress and prepare site and progress updates
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, surveyors and other project stakeholders
- Assist with RFIs, variations and technical documentation
- Review construction drawings, specifications and project requirements
- Support project teams with material quantities, procurement and site coordination
- Assist with maintaining accurate project records and documentation
- Support health and safety, quality and environmental requirements on site
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors and the Construction Manager
- Provide general engineering and project delivery support across civil construction projects
About You
We are looking for someone who has
A recent Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification, preferably in Civil Engineering
A strong interest in civil construction and site-based project delivery
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good organisational and time management skills
Ability to work effectively with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients
Good attention to detail and willingness to develop technical and commercial knowledge
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn
A practical, proactive and team-focused approach
Willingness and ability to travel and work on projects outside Auckland when required
A full New Zealand driver's licence would be preferred
Previous construction, engineering, internship or site-based experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
The successful applicant must be comfortable with regular travel between project sites as part of the role. From time to time, travel or short-term work on Maxion Civil projects outside Auckland may also be required depending on project and operational needs.
This is a full-time position, generally working Monday to Friday, with approximately 45–50 hours per week depending on project requirements.

This is a graduate-level position offering the opportunity to develop practical site engineering experience and progress toward a Project Engineer or Project Management career pathway within the civil construction industry.
