Social Media Specialist

Job Description

Mighty Ape is looking for a Social Media Specialist to own the end-to-end execution of our social content strategy - planning, producing, publishing, and reporting on content that brings the Mighty Ape brand to life. Reporting to the Creative Lead, you'll champion our entire range - gaming, books, movies, toys, tech, home and living, and everything in between - creating social-first content that drives engagement, brand affinity, and conversion. If you live on the platforms, spot trends before they peak, and aren't afraid to jump in front of the camera, we want to hear from you. Full-time, permanent role.

Job Requirements

Essential

Hands-on experience managing social media channels for a brand - content planning, creation, publishing, and community management.

Strong content creation skills across graphics, short-form video, and copy, with confidence appearing on camera.

Deep knowledge of platform trends, formats, and algorithms across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging channels.

Strong attention to detail, with an understanding of advertising compliance (Fair Trading Act, ASA Advertising Standards Code).

Excellent organisation and communication skills - able to juggle multiple campaigns and deadlines at once.

Nice to have

Experience running influencer or partnership programmes, video editing skills, and a genuine love of gaming, pop culture, and the stuff we sell.

Job Responsibilities

Own the day-to-day social content calendar - plan, schedule, and publish across all Mighty Ape platforms, aligned to campaign and promotional activity.

Create engaging, on-brand, social-first content - graphics, short-form video, and copy - tailored to each platform, and act as talent for social content when required.

Lead the logistics and creative planning for content shoots, and QA all social assets for accuracy, brand alignment, and compliance.

Own daily community management - monitor and respond to comments, messages, and interactions, and escalate sensitive matters promptly.

Manage our influencer and contra partnership programme - briefing, contracts, approvals, relationships, and reporting.

Report and analyse performance across channels (Meta, TikTok, etc.), using data to shape content decisions and continuously lift engagement.

Keep the social engine running - trackers, invoices, briefs, and better ways of working.
