Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical software tester to join our development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing test scenarios, executing both manual and automated test scripts, and reporting defects to help the development team improve product quality. You will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

Requirement Analysis: Review and analyze system specifications, user stories, and technical requirements to identify edge cases and potential design risks.

Test Planning & Design: Create comprehensive, structured test plans, test cases, and test data that cover functional, regression, and usability scenarios.

Test Execution: Perform manual testing and write/run scripts for automated testing tools to evaluate software performance and system integrity.

Defect Logging & Reporting: Track software bugs and application defects using bug-tracking databases (e.g., Jira). Provide developers with clear screenshots, logs, and exact steps to reproduce the errors.

Regression Testing: Re-test software after developers implement fixes to ensure existing features have not been broken by the new code changes.

Collaboration: Attend sprint planning, design reviews, and daily stand-ups to offer early input on technical risks or usability concerns.

Pay: From $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Auckland
