Sous Chef

Our Food and Beverage department are looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our highly successful team. Grand Casino provides its employees with an exciting work environment within a fast paced and dynamic industry.

The successful candidate will

• Prepare and cook lunch and dinner service, on-site function menus, staff meals, and off-site catering with a sense of urgency to ensure all food produced is in line with Grand Casino’s expectations.
• Be comfortable managing a team of chefs and passionate to develop their skills further
• Work as part of our team and communicate effectively with Front of House
• Champion all food safety requirements and ensure equipment and sections are always kept clean and well maintained
• Have a passion for quality

Skills and experience

• Level 4 Diploma in Professional Cookery and three years commercial cookery experience in high quality establishments is desired but not essential
• You will ideally hold current food safety certificates 167 and 168 or equivalent (can be obtained during employment)
• Clear understanding on the Food Control Plan and hygiene legislation
• A passion for delivering outstanding culinary offerings that delight our patrons
• Clear communication skills and willingness to continue learning under our highly skilled Executive Chef.
