The Theatres & Anaesthetics Clinical Service Unit (CSU) delivers high-quality, patient-centred perioperative care across a range of surgical specialties. Our multidisciplinary teams work collaboratively to provide safe, effective and compassionate care throughout the patient's surgical journey, from pre-assessment through to recovery. What you will bring to the role The role is to provide and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised programmes of care. You will deliver care without supervision and take responsibility as the prime care provider for a group of patients and at all times promote confidence in our commitment to provide excellent compassionate patient care. The role will involve taking charge of the ward or department as necessary in the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse. You will participate in the in-service training, preceptorship and mentorship of junior staff, post basic learners and students as well as maintaining your personal development. The jobholder will work within an environment caring for adult patients on a Day Surgery Unit which has overnight bed capacity Monday to Saturday.
Qualifications - Essential Criteria
Registered Adult Nurse Level 1 or 2)
Has current registration on the appropriate part of the NMC register.
Willing to undergo training as necessary

Experience of working within the speciality.

Post qualification surgical nursing experience

- Able to fulfil Occupational Health requirements for the post.
Ability to travel in between Trust premises
Able to fulfil Occupational Health requirements for the post (with reasonable adjustments if necessary), including clearance on blood borne viruses in compliance with Trust Policy
