Active Survey specialises in all aspects of Construction Surveying, Rail, UAV, Scanning, Mobile Mapping, and Machine Control applications. We have numerous projects across New Zealand, covering large scale infrastructure, structures and rail, to complex earthworks and land development. Our company uses the most up to date survey equipment and software, priding ourselves on being at the cutting edge of construction surveying solutions.

Established in 2012, Active Survey's scope and volume of work continues to grow, meeting the demands of our valued clients.

With this growth, we currently have multiple roles available at intermediate up to senior level. A minimum 3 years survey experience to highly experienced senior surveyors are welcome to apply.

Along with this we believe in having the best equipment, we run a predominantly Trimble fleet with the latest survey technology, scanners, UAVs and a few other great tools/toys.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Intermediate

Reporting to a Senior Surveyor or Survey Manager, primary tasks are to provide pro-active survey support on a variety of construction projects, including control establishment, setout, as built, monitoring, topographic surveys.

Have an understanding of equipment types, error sources, and methodology to achieve prescribed accuracies.

Data management, efficient transfer of survey data in and out of the office as appropriate for each task. Maintaining up to date design and as-built models with access to a variety of CAD software packages.

Autonomous time management to meet the needs of assigned projects

Communicate effectively to clients and staff, identifying any improvements in process, potential construction issues/risks,

Senior

Field & Office Surveying related tasks as above, including in more technically challenging projects/ environments

Interface with all other project teams as required, including attending survey related meetings.  Provide expert survey advice to project members to achieve project goals.

Maintain continuing professional development to keep up with changing survey technologies and applications.

Create and maintain survey Management Plans, survey procedures and other survey and project commercial/ safety related documentation.

Manage Survey staff by guiding them through the survey procedures and checking that those procedures are followed.

Ensure that the safety performance of the survey works under your responsibility is leading industry standard and industry best practice.

Demonstrate leadership to promote a culture of pro-active risk management and ensure reporting staff have the necessary risk management skills matched to their duties and level of responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements

Have the ability to manage you own sites and clients.

Be able to take projects from start to finish with the required skill and knowledge to do so.

Have a full understanding of Total Stations and GNSS and the ability to process data to a high standard.

Be currently based in NZ or Aus with experience in these regions.
