Salary: Scale 4 - 5 £31,290 - £35,109 p.a. FTE

Term-time 39 weeks per year + INSET days

Scale 4 - 5 dependent on experience pro rata (£31,290 - £35,109 full time equivalent)

The Cedars is a school for children with social, emotional and mental health needs, many of whom are also neurodivergent. Our children may also have also had adverse childhood experiences. We currently cater for children from 5 to 12 years old with 70 primary places and 16 secondary places.

At The Cedars we prioritise relationships, emotional safety and consistency, recognising that when children feel safe, valued and understood, they are far more able to engage with learning.

We are seeking to recruit two experienced Teaching Assistants; one for pupils working at EY/KS1 level and one for KS2.

In the first instance this is a fixed term contract until the end of July 2027, with the possibility of becoming permanent in the next academic year.

We are looking for applicants who:

have experience working with pupils with SEMH needs and/or neurodiversity

build strong, consistent relationships with children and families

can work flexibly and adapt their approach, while maintaining clear boundaries, routines and expectations

are resilient, reflective, and able to keep a sense of humour and perspective

are motivated by improving the life chances of vulnerable learners
