Technical Assistant - Chemistry Laboratory*Hops Team

Join our Hops team and play an important role supporting commercial and research laboratory activities. This hands-on position is ideal for someone with an interest in chemistry, science, food science, brewing, or laboratory operations and who enjoys working accurately and methodically in a laboratory environment.

What you will be doing | Ngā whāinga matua

Prepare hop samples for chemical analysis and support analytical testing activities.

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment while following laboratory procedures and quality standards.

Accurately record laboratory data and assist with inventory, stock management, and day-to-day laboratory operations

To be successful in this role, the minimum qualifications required are:

NCEA Level 3 or an equivalent qualification.

An interest in science, chemistry, food science, brewing, or data management

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to learn laboratory equipment and analytical systems and follow laboratory procedures accurately.

Good data entry, record-keeping, and organisational skills.

Willingness and ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals using appropriate PPE.

* Reasonable level of physical fitness and ability to undertake laboratory-based manual tasks.
