Technical Facilities Manager

Wellington CBD based role.

At NZ Post, we're proud of the role we play connecting people, businesses and communities across Aotearoa. As our new Technical Facilities Manager, you'll use your technical expertise to ensure our nationwide property portfolio remains safe, compliant, reliable and fit for the future.

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role

Reporting to the National Facilities & Asset Manager, you'll provide specialist technical leadership across commercial, retail and industrial properties throughout New Zealand. You'll partner with contractors, service providers and stakeholders to drive operational excellence, asset performance and compliance outcomes.

Key responsibilities include

  • Managing building maintenance programmes and critical infrastructure performance
  • Leading technical investigations, fault finding and asset improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant NZ legislation, standards and BWOF requirements
  • Supporting asset lifecycle planning, capital renewal programmes and budgeting
  • Managing contractor performance, service delivery and safety outcomes
  • Contributing to sustainability, energy efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives

  • You'll be a technically capable facilities professional who enjoys solving problems, building strong relationships and driving outcomes across a complex property environment.

You'll bring

At least 5 years' experience in facilities management, building services engineering or property operations

Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, fire, security and BMS infrastructure

Experience managing maintenance contractors and service providers

Sound understanding of New Zealand building compliance requirements

Strong commercial, analytical and stakeholder management skills
