Job Description

We are looking for a part time fixed term Technician to join our Pathogens Team based at our Lynfield Laboratory. Successful applicants will be responsible for carrying out Microbiological analysis on routine samples and ensure our customer's products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Your key duties will involve

- Complete sample testing within the given turn-around-time (TAT)

- Strictly adhere to all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures

- Ensure all relevant records are kept up to date at all times

- Maintain a clean and tidy work area

- Participate and contribute to working safely

- Be actively involved in all the day to day improvement activitiesOur laboratory is open 7 days a week and flexibility to work overtime at short notice is ideal. The roster on offer is Saturday and Sunday. The successful applicant will be working a minimum of 16 hours per week.

About you

We want to hear from motivated individuals who are keen team players with a passion for providing quality customer focus. Ideally you will have/be;

- Recent graduate

- Experience in a similar environment or worked in Retail or Hospitality

- Passionate about Microbiology as a career

- Good hand and eye co-ordination

- Strong attention to detail

- Ability to work under pressure

- Excellent time management and organisational skill

- Clear communication (both written and verbal)

Qualifications

BSc Microbiology or Food Science
