Timber Flooring Sales/Estimator
Job Description
For this position, flooring experience is essential and you must be able to confidently read and measure from building plans.
You might already be working in flooring sales or estimating, or you might be an experienced flooring installer or tradesperson who knows the industry and is ready to move off the tools into a sales role.
We can teach you our quoting systems and the way we run our business. What we’re looking for is someone who already understands flooring, can talk confidently with builders and clients, and knows what they’re looking at when they walk onto a job.
The role includes
- Meeting builders, designers and homeowners on site
- Site measuring and completing accurate takeoffs from building plans
- Preparing quotes and estimates
- Following up quotes and new enquiries
- Helping clients select suitable timber flooring products
- Working with suppliers on products, pricing and availability
- Assessing existing floors and substrates
- Identifying preparation that may be required before installation
- Keeping accurate photos, measurements and job information
- Following jobs through from initial enquiry to acceptance
- Working closely with our office and operations team to hand jobs over for scheduling and installationWhat we’re looking for:
- You need to have genuine flooring industry experience and must be able to read building plans and complete accurate flooring takeoffs.
- Your background could be in timber flooring installation or sanding, flooring sales, estimating, project management, or the wider flooring industry.
- You’ll need to be confident dealing with builders, designers and homeowners, accurate with measurements and numbers, organised and reliable, and able to work independently.
