Utility Construction Labourer (Lloydminster, SK)

The Saskatchewan Distribution group is growing, and we are currently looking to add Utility Construction Labourer to our team, based in Lloydminster, SK.Reporting to the Foreman or Lead Hand, we are seeking experienced construction Labourers to carry out designated work associated with the operation, maintenance, construction and salvage of overhead and underground electric distribution systems.Please Note: This position works a Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule (Monday – Thursday, 12 hours / day when daylight allows).  Candidates must reside locally in Saskatchewan or be willing to relocate on their own.  We also have a PPE and FR Clothing program for our employees to ensure you have what you need to work safely at all times.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport construction of new overhead and underground power lines and modifications to existing facilitiesProvide brush cutting and tree trimmingRead and understand construction drawings for specific tasks givenHaul materials, which includes poles, to and from Work Sites in a safe and efficient mannerClean up and dispose of any rock, rubble, trash, concrete and all other waste, debris and material generated Assist with framing or installing structure componentsSupport salvaging work at existing electrical facilitiesComplete time sheets, vehicle pre-trip inspections and other paperwork as assignedPerform all other duties as assigned by supervisorsBe available to handle urgent or emergency situations, and to restore or assist in restoring electrical service following outages during and after normal working hours including weekdays, weekends and statutory holidaysRequirementsExperience in a team-oriented construction environmentMust have a valid Class 5 driver’s licenseMust have own vehicle to get to siteMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outside for extended periods of timeMust be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol Test when starting and annually BenefitsWe offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits, including an RRSP matching program, to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing.  About our BusinessValard Construction is Canada’s premier utility contractor providing comprehensive EPC+ (engineering, procurement, construction) and maintenance services to utilities, independent power producers, mining, oil and gas industries and rural electric associations.
