Determining eligibility for various benefit programs, the full-time Virginia Licensed Benefit Programs Specialist will interview applicants, process applications for assistance, and ensure clients receive maximum eligible benefits while working both onsite and remotely.

##### Key responsibilities

Interview applicants and determine eligibility for programs such as SNAP and Medicaid

Compile and analyze information to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines

Respond to appeal requests and participate in appeal hearings while providing referrals to social workers as needed

##### Required qualifications

High school diploma with additional training and related work experience, or equivalent combination

Knowledge of public social service practices and interviewing techniques

Ability to analyze information and maintain professional ethics related to confidentiality

Experience working effectively within a team environment

Eligibility to drive and meet the County's safe driver policy requirements
