Warehouse Assistant

About the role

The Warehouse Assistant role involves managing daily warehouse operations including receiving, storing, picking, packing and dispatching goods. You will work under the direction of the Warehouse Manager or Operations Manager to ensure efficient order fulfillment and maintain quality standards throughout the warehouse.

Key responsibilities

Take orders from warehouse managers on a daily basis and review them thoroughly

Ensure that the correct quantity has been received by comparing received goods with information on the work order

Make sure that all goods are labelled properly using appropriate lot and item numbers

Pick out ordered goods and ensure that they are in good condition

Isolate and report any broken or damaged goods at the time of order picking

Ensure that information of picked goods is recorded in logs

Prepare a series of documents such as dispatch notes and labels

Record movement of goods using barcode scanners

Prepare goods to be shipped out along with appropriate paperwork

Box, pack and wrap picked items according to specific instructions provided by customers

About you

Lifting and Packing, relevant commercial or practical experience, or specific experience with certain computer programmes

Packing Experience and Warehouse experience

Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience

Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members

Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given, and carry out administrative duties in an efficient and timely manner
