Job Description

Build Tank-Tough Gear with the Best in the Business

At Engineering Services Rotorua Ltd, we are the home of Ensign log handling attachments and Woodsman Pro tree harvesters and felling heads. We’ve been designing and manufacturing heavy-duty, tank-tough gear for over five decades.

Right now, we have an opportunity for an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our Rotorua workshop.

If you take pride in your workmanship, know your way around heavy fabrication and MIG welding, and want to build equipment that’s made to work hard, we’d love to hear from you.

What we’re looking for:

At least 5 years’ experience in heavy fabrication and MIG welding in a similar industrial environment.

Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

A good eye for detail and pride in producing quality work.

A strong team player with good communication skills and a collaborative approach.

A reliable, practical approach and the ability to work as part of a large team.

What you’ll be doing:

Fabricating and welding: Cutting, preparing, fitting and welding heavy-duty structural components, log handling and forestry equipment from the ground up.

Working from engineering drawings: Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications to ensure components are accurately measured and manufactured to the required standards.

Taking pride in quality: Checking your work throughout the fabrication process and ensuring completed welds and assemblies meet our quality standards.

Problem-solving: Identifying fabrication and fitment issues, making adjustments and carrying out rework where needed to get the job done right.

Using workshop equipment: Operating fabrication tools, machinery and welding equipment safely and effectively.

Working as a team: Collaborating with other engineers and designers to keep jobs moving and production running smoothly.

Keeping things organised: Maintaining accurate job records, communicating any issues and keeping your work area safe and tidy.

What’s on offer:

Competitive pay of $35–$45 per hour, plus excellent overtime rates.

Guaranteed 40 hours per week, with flexible shift options.

A great workshop culture, working alongside a skilled and experienced team.

The opportunity to build seriously tough equipment that’s used in the forestry industry here and around the world.
