Our Company

Daikin has a solid history and reputation in holding its number 1 position in the global market for air conditioning. The foundation of its success and continued growth is truly in our people, who strive and are encouraged to do remarkable things, including thinking differently and being open to new possibilities.

At Daikin Australia, we live and breathe our core values of Absolute Credibility, Enterprise Management and Building Harmonious Personal Relationships. We prioritise fostering positive relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders to create a collaborative and supportive work environment for all.

Looking ahead, we anticipate the global demand for air conditioning will grow exponentially. Our vision at Daikin after reaching our 100th anniversary globally, is to continue our commitment to environmental awareness and commit to advancing technology to promote sustainable practices.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Human Resources, the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Manager is a high-visibility, active front facing role responsible for driving Daikin Australia's safety strategy across all national operations and sites.

This isn't just an office-bound strategy role. We are looking for a practical, safety minded individual who loves getting out onto the floor, walking the sites, and rolling up their sleeves alongside our warehouse, operational, and office teams. You will bridge the gap between compliance and day-to-day operations to champion a proactive safety culture where everyone goes home safely.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Get out on-site to build trust, conduct toolbox talks, lead safety briefings, and facilitate active, two-way open forums where staff feel confident reporting hazards early.

Build strong, trusted relationships across departments and interstate sites to embed a proactive safety culture.

Establish constant, two-way communication channels (toolbox talks, forums) and lead workplace safety committees.

Oversee end-to-end incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and hazard management using a risk-based approach.

Provide timely reporting to executive leadership on critical matters.

Maintain and continuously improve our Safety Management System in compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and company standards.

Act as primary liaison with SafeWork Australia and regulators.

Analyse safety metrics to identify trends, standardise safety reporting across the business, and deliver monthly executive safety reports.

About You

You are a down-to-earth, collaborative WHS professional who thrives on being visible, approachable, and actively involved across multi-site environments.

Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Minimum 5 years of WHS experience across complex, multi-site, and multi-functional business operations. Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments is highly regarded.

In-depth working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, statutory reporting, and industry best practices.

Proven track record in risk assessments, incident investigations, WHS training facilitation, and data-driven reporting. Ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels-from warehouse teams to executive leaders.
