Interim Accountant

Location: Birmingham / Hybrid

Contract: 3-6 Months Interim

Rate: Up to £180 per day

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Accountant to support a busy finance function during a period of increased workload. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong controls and supporting month-end processes.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of monthly management accounts.

Balance sheet reconciliations and journal postings.

Accruals, prepayments and fixed asset accounting.

Bank reconciliations and cashflow reporting.

Support month-end and year-end close activities.

Assist with budgeting and forecasting.

VAT returns and statutory reporting support.

Liaise with auditors and key stakeholders as required.

Support process improvements across the finance function.

Requirements

Previous experience in an Accountant, Management Accountant or Assistant Accountant position.

Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes.

Experience producing management accounts.

Good Excel skills and attention to detail.

AAT qualified, ACCA/CIMA part-qualified, qualified by experience or fully qualified.
