an exciting opportunity to join Banyule's Parks and Natural Environment team

and make a tangible contribution to the care and management of our urban

forest.

Working with a skilled and supportive team, you'll lead

  • important arboricultural works that improve public safety, enhance
  • neighbourhood amenity, and help maintain a healthy and resilient tree canopy
  • for future generations.
  • What you'll do:
  • Lead and coordinate arboricultural
  • operations, including planning and organising daily work programs, supervising
  • field crews, operating plant and equipment, and ensuring works are completed
  • efficiently, safely, and to specification in accordance with service levels,
  • best practice and Australian Standards.
  • Maintain the health, safety and
  • quality of Council's urban forest through the application of sound
  • arboricultural practices, undertaking inspections, providing technical advice
  • and reporting, and supporting the ongoing management of arboricultural assets.
  • Promote a culture of safety,
  • continuous improvement and customer service by ensuring compliance with safety
  • processes, identifying and reporting hazards and risks, delivering responsive
  • customer-focused outcomes, and assisting with the implementation of new
  • systems, processes and industry best practices.

Everything

  • you do will contribute to the care of approximately 74,000 street trees and 22,000
  • park trees in maintained open space areas, as well as reactive care of 110,000
  • trees in remnant vegetation stands and native areas of significance.
  • What you'll bring (skills and experience).
  • Trade and/or post trade
  • qualification in Arboriculture or associated discipline.
  • Certificate II in
  • ESI – Powerline Vegetation Control.
  • Medium Rigid Truck
  • License.
  • Demonstrated high
  • level of arboriculture skills including elevated Work Platform, climbing and
  • extensive rigging.
  • Demonstrated
  • experience in the positive supervision of staff.
  • Demonstrated
  • experience in scheduling arboriculture works.
  • Pre-employment requirements
  • Certificate
  • II in Electrical Supply Industry (ESI) – Powerline Vegetation Control.
  • Licence
  • to Perform High Risk Work for boom elevated work platform.
  • Medium

Rigid Drivers Licence
