**Petershill Strategies Overview**

Established in 2007, Petershill is a leading GP stake investor, specializing in acquiring non-controlling equity interests in the management companies (General Partners or GPs) of alternative asset managers. Through these strategic, non-control investments, Petershill partners with leading alternative asset managers to accelerate their strategic development. By providing strategic capital, Petershill supports the creation of long-term value, enabling GPs to enhance employee retention, facilitate business development, buy out legacy equity holders, and create broader strategic options, all while preserving the autonomy and entrepreneurial spirit of these organizations. To date, Petershill has partnered with over fifty alternative asset management firms and has raised over $17.0bn of commitments in private fund commitments.

**Responsibilities**

  • Support proprietary deal flow origination for GP stakes and preferred equity transactions as a member of the origination and coverage team. Requires familiarity with approaches to fundamental valuation and deal assessment across a broad range of strategy and sector focused GPs
  • Develop materials to support the origination effort broadly across both platform development and GP-facing content, with a focus on communicating Petershill and XIG’s capital solutions
  • Build on established systems of mapping, tracking, and reaching out to the alternatives GP universe, leveraging external and GS databases, publicly available information, and other resources
  • Cultivate relationships with leading alternative asset managers for GP stakes and related capital solutions; drive thematic sourcing initiatives to support a robust deal pipeline for Petershill and deal referrals across XIG and Goldman Sachs broadly
  • Increase and systematize Petershill connectivity across the alternatives universe, maintaining regular engagement with both external GPs and internal Goldman Sachs groups
  • Maintain and improve methods of tracking engagement with external GPs and internal stakeholders, focusing on capturing the long-term impact of origination efforts

**Qualifications**

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Investment Banking/Corporate Finance/M&A/Leverage Finance/GP stakes/Private Equity/Other Private or Public Markets Investing, *and/or* Corporate Strategy/Business Development/Relationship Management
  • Sound relationship management and deal origination judgment, along with strong familiarity with numerical, analytical, and valuation skills for the purpose of cultivating a strong deal pipeline
  • Experience with GP Coverage preferred, including (i) liaising with senior leadership teams of private capital firms across Private Equity, Private Credit, Private Real Assets, traditional asset managers, wealth managers, and more, and (ii) managing relationships and bringing in strategic resources to accelerate platform growth and development
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills, enabling the candidate to develop and maintain strong relationships with external GPs and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent time, people, and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

**Salary Range**

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$225000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
