\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n The Opportunity:\r\n\r\nThe Automation Specialist position at our Lagimodiere facility is part of an automation team responsible for troubleshooting, servicing and maintaining automated industrial controls and equipment across the entire facility - including production and facility support equipment.\r\n \r\n\r\nAny MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by July 31. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tEffectively troubleshoot HMI, PLC, Remote IO, VFD, electronic control-related, and communication network issues within the facility, ensuring minimal downtime.\r\n\tInterpret and read electrical/control diagrams, with strong expertise in field devices such as pressure, temperature, and flow sensors.\r\n\tExperience working with industrial communication protocols, including Modbus, Profibus, Profinet and Ethernet/IP.\r\n\tMaintain the FactoryTalk Asset Centre repository for synchronized backups and performing routine manual backups of assets that are not included in Asset Centre, such as VFDs.\r\n\tMaintain equipment related and computer integration software to ensure revisions are current. Keep current backups of all machine and robot related control systems.\r\n\tPerform routine checks of automation Level 2 network assets to ensure devices remain accessible on the network.\r\n\tLiaise with corporate Information Solutions to resolve issues with plant MES systems, production floor systems and local plant network.\r\n\tProvide on-site support for all plant process control and monitoring of automation systems.\r\n\tAbility to write and interpret PLC programs in LAD, FBD and STL.\r\n\tCarrying out approved program modifications to PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems to improve machine efficiency and reliability.\r\n\tPerform preventive maintenance on automation equipment, including plant CCTV systems, to ensure continuous optimal performance.\r\n\tProvide technical support and training to plant maintenance team as required.\r\n\tEnsure proper documentation of changes and updates made to the plant automation systems.\r\n\tProvide input on equipment installation, total predictive/preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of SCADA, PCS, MES, and BAS systems.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tThe successful candidate will be results-oriented, thrive in a fast paced, demanding environment, and possess the ability to develop positive working relationships with all employees.
