Business Development Manager
Job Description
About the Company
epay New Zealand, the business behind Prezzy Card and Gift Station, is part of Euronet Worldwide, a global leader in financial technology and payments.
We connect retailers and consumers through innovative payment, gifting, and digital transaction solutions, delivering both physical and digital products across New Zealand. Backed by Euronet's global network spanning more than 200 countries and territories, we help make everyday payments, gifting, and digital services simple, secure, and seamless
About the role
We're looking for a Christchurch-based Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across the South Island. This is a dynamic, field-based sales role focused on winning new customers for our point-of-sale and payment solutions, primarily within the hospitality sector, including cafés, restaurants, bars, and accommodation providers.
While hospitality is the primary focus, you'll also identify and convert opportunities across retail and other industries where our solutions can make a real impact.
This is a true hunter role, ideal for someone who loves building relationships, creating opportunities, and closing deals. You'll engage with business owners and decision-makers, understand their needs, and deliver innovative solutions that help them streamline operations, grow their business, and enhance the customer experience
Key responsibilities
Generate new business through proactive prospecting, cold calling, field visits, referrals, networking, partnerships and targeted campaigns.
Own the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation and qualification through discovery, solution design, demonstration, proposal, negotiation and close.
Develop a strong pipeline of Hospitality/Retail POS and payment opportunities across Christchurch and the wider South Island.
Conduct customer discovery to understand operating requirements, pain points, transaction flows, integration needs and commercial objectives.
Prepare accurate commercial proposals and negotiate sustainable, mutually beneficial agreements.
Maintain disciplined CRM records, pipeline stages, forecasts, activity plans and follow-up actions.
About you
2 - 5 years in a similar role, ideally in hospitality & retail technology, SaaS, POS, payments, merchant services or a related B2B environment.
Ability to build and manage a sales territory, prioritise prospects and consistently progress a pipeline.
Consultative discovery, solution-selling, presentation, demonstration, negotiation and closing skills.
Commercial acumen and the ability to explain pricing, value, return on investment and business outcomes.
Confidence engaging business owners and senior decision-makers in person, by phone and through digital channels.
Strong organisation, time management, CRM discipline and forecasting capability.
Ability to understand technology and translate technical features into practical customer benefits.
A full New Zealand driver licence and the legal right to work in New Zealand.
Benefits

💙 Health and wellness perks to help you feel your best.
🛍️ Staff discounts on products, giving you great deals on popular brands.
