Car Rental Branch Manager - Fixed term

About the role

Fixed-Term Maternity Cover | November 2026 – approximately June 2027.

As Branch Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the Auckland Airport operation, including customer service, fleet management, staffing, branch standards and overall operational performance. This is a hands-on management role. We need someone who leads from the front and is comfortable getting involved in every aspect of the operation. During busy periods, that could mean serving customers at the counter, organising vehicle movements, assisting with fleet preparation, solving last-minute operational issues or helping the team wherever required. You will need to be confident making decisions, managing competing priorities and keeping the branch running efficiently during the busy Auckland summer rental season.

Key responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day operation of our Auckland Airport Branch

Deliver a consistently high level of customer service

Manage the branch fleet, including vehicle availability, presentation, maintenance and movements

Coordinate vehicles going to and from our after-hours provider and ensure all required processes and paperwork are completed

Manage airport customer collections and drop-offs

Lead, support and motivate the branch team while maintaining clear expectations and accountability

Prepare staff rosters and effectively manage wage costs

Maintain branch presentation and operational standards in line with company expectations

About you

Previous experience within the rental car industry is highly preferred

Previous experience managing a busy branch or customer-focused operation

Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment

Strong operational and organisational skills

Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative

Confidence making decisions under pressure

Strong people-management and leadership skills

Professional communication and customer-service skills
