Civil Foreman

• Are you an experienced Civil Foreman looking for your next move?
• We are recruiting on behalf of an established and growing Central Otago civil contractor with a strong pipeline of projects across Queenstown, Wānaka, Cromwell and the wider Central Otago region.
• We're looking for an experienced Civil Foreman who can take ownership on site, lead from the front and work alongside a skilled team to deliver civil projects to a high standard.
• The Role As Civil Foreman, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of works on site, coordinating your crew and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Your responsibilities will include

• Leading and coordinating civil crews on site
• Planning daily works, labour, plant and equipment
• Supervising earthworks and general civil construction activities
• Reading and working from plans and specifications
• Coordinating with Project Managers, subcontractors and other site teams
• Monitoring progress and helping keep projects on programme
• Ensuring workmanship meets required quality standards
• Identifying and resolving site issues as they arise
• Maintaining high health and safety standards
• Completing relevant site documentation
• Mentoring junior staff and helping develop the wider team
• Being hands-on and working alongside the crew when required
• About You We're looking for someone who brings solid civil construction experience and is comfortable taking responsibility for a crew and the work happening on site.

Ideally, you'll have

• Previous experience as a Civil Foreman, Leading Hand or experienced senior civil worker
• Strong practical civil construction knowledge
• Experience across earthworks, roading, subdivisions, drainage and general civil works
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a crew
• Good understanding of plans, levels and site specifications
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• High standards of workmanship
• A practical, hands-on approach to leadership
• A strong commitment to health and safety
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude
• Full Class 1 driver's licence
• Additional licences and machinery endorsements would be an advantage
