We are currently seeking an experienced Plant Fitter to join our team in Mayo.

The Role

The Plant Fitter will maintain, service, diagnose and repair plant machinery and small tools to ensure their safe, reliable and efficient operation across Wills Bros projects. The role involves working with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, as well as completing welding and fabrication tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Service, inspect and repair plant machinery and small tools, including consaws, drills and compactors.

Diagnose faults in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.

Complete welding and fabrication work, including MIG, TIG and arc welding as applicable, for brackets, guards, buckets and minor structural repairs.

Carry out preventative maintenance, including oil sampling; replacing filters, fluids, hoses, pins and bushes; track and undercarriage work; and maintaining battery, charging and cooling systems.

Repair or replace hydraulic components, including pumps, motors, rams, valves and hoses, and electrical components, including looms, alternators, sensors, starters and lighting.

Complete service sheets, inspection reports and job cards accurately, and keep maintenance records up to date.

Ensure all work complies with manufacturer guidance and company procedures.

Prepare plant for regulatory inspections, support third-party inspections and rectify any findings.

Requirements

A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Plant Fitter or Mechanical Fitter.

A relevant qualification in Construction Plant Fitting, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Strong experience in plant maintenance and repairing small tools, including consaws and drills.

Competence in hydraulics, electrical systems, mechanical systems, welding and fabrication.

Ability to read technical drawings and manuals and follow OEM procedures.

A full, clean Irish driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Living within a commutable distance of Mayo.
