Deputy Manager

Up to £15 per hour,plus tronc,plus bonus

Four mates. One back-garden barbecue that got out of hand. A burger that came second in the world.

That was 2011. Now there are eight Beefy Boys restaurants,over 400 of us,and more on the way. We're looking for a Deputy Manager for [Site],and we'll be honest:we're hoping you'll be running your own Beefy one day. Every new restaurant needs a GM,and we'd much rather promote our own.

Here's the job.

You're the GM's right hand in [Site],and when they're away,you're in charge of the bar,the floor and the kitchen. You'll write the rotas,help recruit and train the team,keep an eye on sales and labour,and make sure deliveries land and stock adds up. Then on a busy night you'll be in the thick of it with everyone else,because that's how we lead here.

you're an assistant or deputy manager in a busy restaurant,or a strong restaurant manager ready for more. You know your way around a P&L and a rota,you lead from the floor,and you want to run your own site one day.

The honest bit.

It's a big job and a busy one. You'll be learning the business side while running service,and some weeks that'll stretch you. That's the point. This role is built to get you ready for a restaurant of your own.

So,what's the pay?

Nobody works for free,so let’s be upfront. And honestly? It’s good. You’re paid hourly at £14.00 to £15.00,which is £33k to £35k a year on a 45-hour week. Add tronc (our managers averaged £8k last year) and a quarterly bonus (around £2.5k,as most sites hit 85% or more),and you’re looking at up to £45.5k a year. Tronc goes up and down with how busy we are.

You're contracted for 45 hours a week,and every hour over that gets paid. No unpaid overtime,ever. We open 12 till 9.30,so you'll actually have your mornings back.
