Driller - Trainee

RedBull Powder Company manufactures a range of explosives products and provides comprehensive drilling and blasting services to quarries, mines and construction projects in New Zealand.

We are now recruiting for a Trainee Driller to learn the operation and maintenance of Top Hammer Drill Rigs in a safe and professional manner. This position is a great opportunity in becoming a skilled and experienced Drill Operator for a long-term career.

You will need to have;

Class 1 Full NZ Driver Licence

Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written

Work safely and in line with Standard Operating Procedures and instructions

Strong personal presentation, history of punctuality and high work attendance record

Be fit and healthy with the ability to complete manual handling tasks

Self-disciplined with enthusiasm to work, a positive attitude and a team player with the ability to work alone

The RedBull drill workshop is based in Pokeno, but daily jobs are spread across customer quarry and construction sites throughout the North Island. There is a requirement for early starts and overnight trips away, so flexibility is essential to the role.

Ideally the successful applicant would reside in the Northern Waikato, Franklin District or Southern Auckland area.

The successful applicant will need to be eligible to work in NZ, hold a current and unrestricted Full Class 1 driver licence, pass a Ministry of Justice background check and complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.  The role will also be subject to ongoing random drug and alcohol screening.
