\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Opportunity:\r\n\r\nAn Ontario licensed Industrial/Construction Electrician will perform tasks to maintain, install and repair electrical systems in accordance with standard operating procedures and ESA/ Ontario Building Code.  S/he will report to the Maintenance Manager, however, will receive directions from the Production Supervisor(s) on daily work that requires completion.\r\n\r\n\r\nAny MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by July 28. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.\r\n \r\n\r\nReason for vacancy:  Existing Headcount \r\nBase Salary:   $38.95 per hour\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tTrouble shoot electrical circuits/devices, PLC’s and have a proactive approach to solving problems\r\n\tRead and interpret electrical schematics, identify required parts for repairs\r\n\tInteract with ESA Inspectors and maintain the ESA Logbook\r\n\tPerform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs\r\n\tOperate all power truck equipment, such as stacker, forklift, elevated work platform and walkie/rider.\r\n\tMaintain a clean and tidy work area(s).\r\n\tManage own work sequence.\r\n\tComplete required documentation accurately and neatly.\r\n\tFollow standard operating procedures.\r\n\tPerform duties in accordance with all regulatory bodies.\r\n\tAdhere to all food safety, health & safety, HACCP, WHMIS and good manufacturing practices guidelines and applicable statues and procedures.\r\n\tCommitment to Maple Leaf Foods Safety Promise.\r\n\tContributes to a healthy work environment, while maintaining high food safety and health and safety standards\r\n\tTake action to correct any issues and to make improvements\r\n\tMaintains productivity that meets/exceeds standards\r\n\tContributes to the team and the whole facility in a positive way\r\n\tOther responsibilities as required\r\n\tWork cross functionally with other trades/employees\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tValid Provincial Certificate for Industrial or Construction Electrician\r\n\tExperience with computers, paperwork accuracy, and SAP\r\n\tSuccessfully pass in house power truck/ elevated work platform theoretical and practical training and tests\r\n\tGood communication skills, able to speak and read English\r\n\tPhysically fit to perform required tasks including heaving lifting greater than 25kgs\r\n\tAbility to follow directions and work as a team player\r\n\tMust be willing and flexible to work shifts as scheduled\r\n\r\n\r\nREQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITY & EXPERIENCE:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAble to work in a fast-paced work environment with repetitive tasks\r\n\tVariable temperatures\r\n\tAble to stand and walk throughout the shift\r\n\tAble to perform repetitive lifting and shoveling\r\n\tBasic computer experience and knowledge with SAP is an asset\r\n\tCan work well in a team environment and support fellow team members\r\n\tHighly motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision.\r\n\tSense of urgency, attention to detail and ownership in quality of work\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\n\tAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best. \r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n
