Role Description:
We currently have exciting permanent full-time opportunities available within our Advanced Manufacturing team at Edinburgh Parks, SA for both Electronics Test Technicians and Service Centre Technicians - Electronics.
These roles provide the opportunity to apply your electronics, RF, testing, fault-finding, and repair expertise within a highly regulated environment. Working with advanced test and diagnostic equipment, you will be responsible for testing, diagnosing, analysing, and repairing electronic products and assemblies at the component level, including both newly manufactured and field-returned equipment. You will support the validation, maintenance, and repair of complex electronic systems, conduct root cause investigations, and contribute to the successful delivery of customer and service contract requirements. Collaborating closely with technicians and engineers, you will play a key role in ensuring product quality, reliability, and operational performance while working to contracted delivery targets.
Core Duties:
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, testing, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, and validation of electronic, electrical, RF, and PCBA-level equipment using automated and manual test systems.
Investigate equipment and test failures, identify root causes, analyse trends, and support continuous improvement initiatives through effective problem-solving and corrective actions.
Utilise specialised electronic test and measurement equipment to verify product performance, conduct repairs, equipment calibration, and test equipment changeovers.
Prepare and maintain accurate technical reports, failure investigations, test documentation, maintenance records, and compliance documentation.
Support the integration, repair, and validation of products, ensuring all activities meet quality, safety, regulatory, and Defence requirements.
Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production teams to achieve operational and production objectives.
Maintain stock control, an organised work environment, and adherence to technical procedures, safety standards, and best-practice maintenance processes.
Essential Skills:
Certificate III in Electronics (or equivalent) with relevant industry experience in Defence, Aviation, Advanced Manufacturing, or another highly regulated environment.
Proven experience testing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic and RF systems at the component level, including high-powered electronic equipment and assemblies.
Strong fault-finding and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to investigate test failures, interpret results, and resolve complex electronic and electrical issues.
Hands-on experience using electronic test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analysers, and signal analysers for testing, verification, and repair activities.
Sound electronic theory knowledge, strong technical reporting skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, safety, accuracy, continuous improvement, and ongoing learning.
Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
