An opportunity currently exists for an Environmental Cleaner - Packing & Finished Goods, based at our Picton site, on a full-time permanent basis.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Environmental Cleaner to join our team at our food manufacturing facility in Picton.

This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and audit-ready environment within our Packing and Finished Goods areas. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting food safety, quality, GMP, and workplace safety standards across the site.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine cleaning of Packing and Finished Goods areas.

Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.

Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure all areas remain audit-ready.

Remove dust, product build-up, waste, and other contaminants from designated areas.

Support food safety, quality, and GMP requirements.

Report maintenance, hygiene, food safety, and housekeeping issues.

Ensure correct handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Assist with internal and external audits.

Maintain accurate cleaning records and documentation.

Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

Identify and report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.

Work collaboratively with Production, Warehouse, and Maintenance teams.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have

Previous cleaning, sanitation, manufacturing, warehouse, or food industry experience.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
Good understanding of safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work independently and manage routine tasks effectively.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work across different areas of the site as required.
Desirable
Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, BRC, or food safety systems.
Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
