We're Hiring

We are currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent position for a ESG Compliance Specialist in our Regulatory Affairs ESG Department at our Leamington facility.

What You'll Do

Analyze environmental regulations and corporate governance policy alignment

Support corporate governance frameworks established by the board

Support environmental/sustainability data requests from retailers, vendors and regulatory bodies

Develop comprehensive reports and policy briefings that highlight existing and emergent environmental policy compliance (with a focus on extended producer responsibility, mandatory PCR, climate disclosure laws, etc.), risk factors and cost benefit analyses

Support the development of internal audits and assurances of packaging databases, ensuring proper cross departmental collaboration and communication, especially with Marketing and Dry Goods

Assess governance and environmental risk factors within operational practices, providing strategic recommendations for mitigation and regulatory alignment to the board and executive leaders

Educate and advise staff and leadership on board identified governance principles, regulatory obligations, and best practices to foster a culture of compliance and accountability.

Track and evaluate the outcomes of environmental and governance initiatives, reporting on policy impact, regulatory performance, and continuous improvement efforts.

Must comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedures.

What You Bring

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Agricultural Science, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field

Experience in environmental compliance, quality assurance, quality control, or project management is a strong asset

Strong technical writing skills for developing reports, policies, and documentation, combined with professional communication skills (e.g., active listening, collaboration) to engage internal and external stakeholders effectively

Proficiency in data collection, management, and analysis to support performance reporting and policy briefs

Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required

Ability to build and maintain respectful relationships with diverse stakeholders, including employees, regulators, and industry associations, in alignment with organizational goals

Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail

Capability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively in a team environment to drive sustainability initiatives

Ability to embrace and adapt to rapid organizational growth, innovation, and development in a dynamic agricultural environment

Strong organizational skills to manage documentation, verification schedules, and compliance processes efficiently

Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for travel to company sites. Valid passport and willingness to travel across the US/Canada border as needed

Proficiency in English is required. Spanish language skills are a valued asset for engaging with diverse stakeholders, particularly growers and suppliers

What To Expect

Office, greenhouse, distribution centre, and warehouse settings with moderate physical activity (walking, standing); greenhouses may be hot, humid, with pests; warehouses vary from cooler to temperature-controlled

Occasional US/Canada travel to support audits, stakeholder engagement, and other circumstances as deemed necessary, requiring a valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and passport

Full-time (40-44 hours/week, Monday-Friday), with intermittent evenings/weekends to support audits, events, and special circumstances as deemed necessary

Moderate activity during site visits, requiring safety protocol adherence in production areas

Dynamic, collaborative environment focused on marketing, innovative strategies, agriculture, and sustainability
