Estimator - Power

Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for an Electrical Estimator to join our Power team, based at Tomago.

This is an exciting opportunity to broaden your experience, strengthen your commercial skills and play a key role in delivering competitive electrical solutions for our customers. Working across a diverse range of projects, you’ll be involved from the early stages of project development through to tender submission, collaborating with customers and internal teams to develop practical, cost-effective solutions.

You’ll gain exposure to a variety of projects, contribute to business growth and work closely with experienced professionals across our Power team, helping turn customer requirements into well-developed estimates and successful project opportunities.

What you'll be doing:

Preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, quotations and tender submissions.

Working with customers to understand project requirements, scope and expectations.

Collaborating with engineering, project delivery and other internal teams to develop competitive, achievable solutions.

Supporting pre-engineering activities, project reviews and tender planning.

Managing multiple tenders and priorities across a varied project portfolio.

Reviewing technical and commercial requirements to ensure estimates align with relevant standards, contracts, legislation and budgets.

Building strong customer relationships and supporting positive tender outcomes.

Identifying opportunities to improve estimating processes, tender success and business growth.

About you:

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, commercially minded and technically capable, with a genuine interest in developing their career and contributing to the success of Ampcontrol’s Power team.

You will ideally have

An electrical trade background or an electrical engineering qualification.

Hands-on experience with HV/LV electrical systems, plant or equipment.

Experience or exposure to electrical estimating, cost budgets, quotations or tender preparation.

An understanding of electrical equipment and project requirements within industrial, mining or similar environments.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
