Facilities Maintenance Helper
Job Description
The Facility Maintenance Helper is responsible for supporting the overall maintenance, safety, and functionality of company buildings and surrounding grounds. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all facility-related systems—including lighting, electrical fixtures, security systems, plumbing, and general building infrastructure—are properly maintained and operating efficiently. The role requires a hands-on individual who can assist with a wide range of maintenance tasks, respond promptly to facility needs, and contribute to a clean, safe, and professional work environment for all employees and visitors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety, while maintaining flexibility to support multiple facilities as business needs evolve.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist with maintenance and repair of facility lighting systems, including bulbs, ballasts, switches, and outlets
- Support installation and basic troubleshooting of security systems, including cameras and access control devices
- Perform routine facility inspections to identify maintenance issues and safety concerns
- Maintain and service restroom facilities, including minor plumbing repairs, fixture replacements, and upkeep
- Complete general building repairs such as drywall, painting, doors, locks, and minor carpentry work
- Assist with HVAC-related tasks such as filter replacements and basic system checks
- Maintain exterior areas, including walkways, parking lots, and building signage
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in facility maintenance, general maintenance, or a related field preferred
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general repair practices
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team

- Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and changing weather conditions
- May require occasional overtime or travel between facilities
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
