Facilities Maintenance Helper
Job Description
The Facility Maintenance Helper is responsible for supporting the overall maintenance, safety, and functionality of company buildings and surrounding grounds. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all facility-related systems—including lighting, electrical fixtures, security systems, plumbing, and general building infrastructure—are properly maintained and operating efficiently. The role requires a hands-on individual who can assist with a wide range of maintenance tasks, respond promptly to facility needs, and contribute to a clean, safe, and professional work environment for all employees and visitors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety, while maintaining flexibility to support multiple facilities as business needs evolve.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with maintenance and repair of facility lighting systems, including bulbs, ballasts, switches, and outlets
Support installation and basic troubleshooting of security systems, including cameras and access control devices
Perform routine facility inspections to identify maintenance issues and safety concerns
Maintain and service restroom facilities, including minor plumbing repairs, fixture replacements, and upkeep
Complete general building repairs such as drywall, painting, doors, locks, and minor carpentry work
Assist with HVAC-related tasks such as filter replacements and basic system checks
Maintain exterior areas, including walkways, parking lots, and building signage
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
Maintain organization and cleanliness of maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Minimum of 1 year of experience in facility maintenance, general maintenance, or a related field preferred
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general repair practices
Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Combination of warehouse, office, and outdoor environments
Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and changing weather conditions
May require occasional overtime or travel between facilities
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
