About the Role
Join the D.R. Johnston Group at JBS Australia as a Financial Accountant and help deliver accurate, timely group financial reporting, stronger financial controls, compliance, and ongoing improvement of our finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Work with site-based and remote teams to ensure consistent reporting processes and financials are in place.
Support the development of reporting automation and process improvement initiatives in conjunction with the Finance Managers and the Business Analysis team.
Review the financial reporting processes and internal controls throughout the business.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, SOX, and external audit requirements.
Support the planning and delivery of the national group reporting.
Coordinate the month-end reporting processes (journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliations).
Prepare and deliver corporate reporting and business analysis as required, accurately and on time.
Champion the continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy and business performance.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
5 + years of experience in financial reporting, audit, internal controls or a related accounting function.
Experience working in a SOX environment.
Previous experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm is a major asset.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a distributed team.
Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
CA or CPA qualification (current membership preferred).
