FSQA Manager - Contract

\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Opportunity:\r\n\r\nAs the leader of the FSQA team, the FSQA Manager is accountable for the execution of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs at the facility. The Manager is a key member of the facility management team and is responsible for driving continuous improvement in a faced paced and demanding environment.  Additionally, the Manager will establish and maintain positive relationships with regulatory bodies.\r\n \r\n\r\nExcellent temporary growth opportunity to hone existing skills, learn new skills/processes and lead a fantastic FSQA team in a manufacturing (Plant) setting.  \r\n \r\n\r\nAny MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by August 18. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tEnsure effective execution of all FSQA programs to meet corporate and customer food safety strategy & quality standards as well as all regulatory requirements (CFIA, Health Canada, USDA, FDA, etc.).\r\n\tLead internal and external audits (BRC, customers, CFIA, etc.).\r\n\tUsing fact-based analysis, provide recommendations to improve the facility quality systems.\r\n\tLead, coach and develop QA team.\r\n\tIn conjunction with facility leadership, drive the organizations FS culture.\r\n\tRecommend and implement process improvements within the facility and the department.\r\n\tAccountable for hold and release activities related to pathogens test programs, non-conformance situations, etc.\r\n\tEnsure timely resolution of necessary corrective action items associated with all audits or CFIA concerns.\r\n\tFacility FS lead during product launches utilizing product development process (PDP) FS risk assessment.\r\n\tBuild and advance relationships with CFIA and other external organizations.\r\n\tSupport or lead change management activities related to processes, programs and/or systems.\r\n\tLead facility activities during any potential product recalls.\r\n\tActively participate in facility leadership meetings.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tUniversity degree or college diploma preferably in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science or a related discipline.\r\n\tMinimum 5 years of experience leading a high performing team in a food manufacturing facility.\r\n\tAbility to leverage exceptional interpersonal, communication to develop productive internal and external relationships.\r\n\tProven ability to influence stakeholders to achieve desired results.\r\n\tEnergetic and positive leadership style.\r\n\tExcellent observation and problem-solving skills.\r\n\tProven ability to coach for high performance. \r\n\tStrong systems skills (including MS Office).\r\n\tAbility to work effectively on a cross functional leadership team.\r\n\tExperience thriving in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment.\r\n\tDemonstrated alignment to the Maple Leaf Leadership Values.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\n\tAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best.\r\n\tCompetitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
