\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe Opportunity:\r\n\r\nWe are looking for a hands-on consultant who can build, automate, operate, troubleshoot, and improve hybrid cloud infrastructure. This role sits within Infrastructure & Operations / CloudOps and will spend approximately 75% of its time on Azure cloud, Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, automation, and platform operations, with the remaining 25% focused on supporting and improving on-premises Hyper-V and VMware environments.\r\n \r\n\r\nThe right candidate is a practical senior technologist who will roll up their sleeves, work directly in the platforms and code repositories, resolve complex issues, automate repeatable work, and help the team deliver reliable outcomes from day one. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You Will Help Us Do\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDeliver and support Azure cloud capabilities, Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, automation, and platform operations.\r\n\tBuild, configure, operate, troubleshoot, and continuously improve Azure platform services, including subscriptions, networking, identity integration, monitoring, backup, governance guardrails, and operational support patterns.\r\n\tDevelop and maintain reusable Terraform modules, deployment pipelines, environment separation, state management, code-review practices, testing, documentation, and drift-remediation processes.\r\n\tAutomate provisioning, configuration, compliance checks, operational tasks, and remediation by using Terraform, PowerShell, Azure CLI, Git-based workflows, and related tools.\r\n\tProvide hands-on Level 3 support for complex Azure and hybrid platform incidents, perform root-cause analysis, implement durable fixes, and improve runbooks and monitoring.\r\n\tSupport cloud migrations and modernization by assessing workloads, preparing landing-zone requirements, executing or guiding migrations, validating outcomes, and resolving post-migration issues.\r\n\tSupporting and improve on-premises Hyper-V and VMware environments, including virtualization hosts, clusters, storage integration, backup, disaster recovery, capacity, lifecycle, and production resilience.\r\n\tCreate practical solution designs and implementation plans for Azure and hybrid infrastructure, ensuring designs can be deployed, operated, secured, monitored, and supported by the team.\r\n\tPartner with Security, application, data, network, and operations teams to deliver secure and supportable platform solutions that meet business needs.\r\n\tChallenge vendors, validate technical recommendations, and participate directly in proofs of concept, implementation, testing, handover, and issue resolution.\r\n\tCoach CloudOps engineers through pairing, code reviews, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer while remaining personally accountable for hands-on delivery.\r\n\tLead workload placement and migration planning, including whether workloads should move to Azure, remain on-premises, modernize, retire, or use a transitional pattern.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nDigital Platform Enablement\r\n\r\nThis role supports digital, data, and AI initiatives from a platform foundation perspective. It does not own enterprise data strategy, analytics delivery, applications, or AI model development.\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDesign the cloud and infrastructure foundation needed for secure data collection, aggregation, storage, integration, and analytics enablement.\r\n\tUnderstand enough about Microsoft data platform concepts - such as Fabric, OneLake, Data Factory, Event Hubs, storage, lakehouse patterns, networking, identity, and monitoring - to partner effectively with Digital Innovation and BI/AI teams.\r\n\tSupport infrastructure patterns for facility, edge, gateway, or vendor platform integration into approved cloud or data platforms.\r\n\tEvaluate digital/data vendor proposals for infrastructure fit, security, integration, cost, operability, supportability, and alignment to the Azure platform.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSecurity and Identity Partnership\r\n\r\nWe have a dedicated Security team. This consultant is expected to apply security and identity requirements in day-to-day builds, automation, troubleshooting, and solution design, while partnering effectively with Security. The role does not own security policy, identity governance, compliance interpretation, or risk acceptance.\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPartner with Security on Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud posture, identity/RBAC patterns, network segmentation, logging, and remediation planning.\r\n\tDesign infrastructure that aligns with security guardrails without becoming the owner of enterprise security operations.\r\n\tBring security-related platform risks and options forward clearly so the right accountable teams can decide.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Are Looking For\r\n\r\n\r\n\tStrong hands-on production experience building, operating, and troubleshooting Azure infrastructure, including networking, subscriptions, hybrid connectivity, identity integration, monitoring, backup, governance, and operational support.\r\n\tDemonstrated experience writing, reviewing, testing, and maintaining Terraform code and reusable modules in Git-based deployment workflows.\r\n\tPractical automation and scripting experience using tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and policy-as-code.\r\n\tAbility to take ownership of complex incidents and technical problems, work directly in production environments under change controls, complete root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.\r\n\tHands-on experience planning and executing migrations from on-premises Hyper-V or VMware environments to Azure, including discovery, dependency assessment, cutover, validation, and stabilization.\r\n\tSolid production experience with Hyper-V and VMware vSphere/vCenter/ESXi, with familiarity in clustering, storage, networking, backup, disaster recovery, capacity, lifecycle, and resilience.\r\n\tAbility to create practical solution designs, standards, diagrams, and implementation plans without losing focus on build, support, automation, and operational outcomes.\r\n\tStrong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and knowledge-transfer skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal teams and service providers.\r\n\tA self-directed, delivery-focused mindset and the ability to hit the ground running with limited oversight.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nHelpful Experience\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAzure landing zones, Azure VMware Solution, Azure Arc, Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, VMware HCX, Zerto, Veeam, Rubrik, or similar migration/DR tools.\r\n\tMicrosoft Fabric, OneLake, Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Event Hubs, Azure IoT-related services, lakehouse concepts, event-driven ingestion, or cloud data platform foundations.\r\n\tManufacturing, industrial, remote-site, edge, IoT, gateway, or facility data collection environments.\r\n\tVendor selection, RFP/RFI support, solution scoring, proof-of-concept planning, SOW development, or executive recommendation development.\r\n\tRelevant certifications such as TOGAF, PMP, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, VMware VCP/VCAP, or FinOps Practitioner.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat This Role Is - and Is Not\r\n\r\nThis role is:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tA senior hands-on Azure and hybrid infrastructure consultant role\r\n\tA platform enablement role for digital/data initiatives\r\n\tA partner to Security and Identity teams\r\n\tA hands-on builder and Level 3 escalation resource for Azure, automation, and hybrid infrastructure\r\n\tA delivery-focused technical lead who works alongside engineers and vendors\r\n\r\n\r\nThis role is not:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAn architecture-only or advisory position\r\n\tThe owner of data strategy, analytics, MES/SCADA, or AI delivery\r\n\tThe owner of security operations, identity governance, or compliance interpretation\r\n\tA routine ticket-queue role limited to repetitive support\r\n\tA PowerPoint-only designer who delegates all implementation and support\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nApplication Note\r\n\r\nPlease do not submit a resume that only lists tools and technologies.  To help us understand your real experience, include a short Real Experience Summary covering the following five examples.\r\n\r\nKeep each example brief — a short paragraph or 4–6 bullets is enough.
