**General Medicine Registrar** **Classification:** Registrar Year 1 – Year 6 and thereafter (HM25 – HM30) under the AMA Victoria – Victorian Public Health Sector – Doctors in Training Enterprise Agreement, commensurate with experience **Status:** Full Time, fixed term until 6/11/2028 **Remuneration:** $129,048.40 – $177,622.12 p/a + super + salary packaging **Closing Date:** 20 November 2026 **About the Role** Mildura Base Public Hospital is seeking a motivated General Medicine Registrar to join our General Medicine team. You will work under the guidance of our Medical Consultants, many with sub-specialty interests, alongside a committed multidisciplinary team. Together you will deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care in a team environment that is conducive to learning. This role offers experience in the care of patients with multi-system disease, acute and undifferentiated presentations, inpatient care and complex ambulatory care, along with MET call experience and after-hours clinical leadership. You will assess and manage patients on presentation and in the Emergency Department, develop diagnosis and treatment plans under consultant supervision, and accept and respond to specialty referrals from other units. You will attend, and in certain circumstances run, Code Blue and MET calls. You will also plan discharge from the time of admission, hold timely discussions with patients and their families, and participate in clinics, quality improvement and audit activities. As a Registrar, you will act as an adviser and mentor to our Junior Medical Officers, supervising and educating them in clinical management and procedural techniques. The role includes participation in an on-call roster and offers broad clinical exposure, real responsibility and strong support for your progression through Rural Generalist training. **About You** To be successful in this role, you will have: * Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (via AHPRA), without conditions, undertakings or reprimands. * An MBBS (or equivalent) and successful completion of the relevant postgraduate years. * Acceptance into, or active progress towards, a recognised Rural Generalist training pathway (ACRRM or RACGP), or eligibility to apply for one. * Excellent clinical skills and judgement, including sound assessment, diagnostic and decision-making skills. * Excellent communication, care management, time management and team skills, with the ability to build trust with patients, families and colleagues. * A demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and respect for cultural diversity. * The ability to supervise, teach and support junior medical staff. * Evidence of ongoing professional development, a willingness to learn and the ability to work in an environment of change. **About MBPH** At Mildura Base Public Hospital (MBPH), we're driven by a genuine focus on patient-centred care.
